HTET : Haryana bends again, withdraws rule related to pregnant women

HTET : Haryana bends again, withdraws rule related to pregnant women

Regarding Recruitment of Teachers in Haryana : -

CHANDIGARH: Under fire from all the quarters, especially the aspirant teachers who have qualified Haryana Teacher eligibility test (HTET), the Haryana government on Tuesday struck off the condition wherein a woman candidate carrying 3 month or more pregnancy shall be held ineligible for recruitment of teacher.

While announcing this, the government also re-notified the announcement while saying that the teachers shall be recruited on regular basis instead of contractual basis as announced last month.

While mystery over Haryana government's decision of relaxing the norms related to HTET qualifying test for recruitment of teachers in the times of come. Demanding immediate withdrawl of this condition, the STET and HTET qualified teachers have threatened to resort to mass immolations on May 6.

It may be recalled that the Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his government were under fire from cross sections of society after it announced to disqualify the women candidates carrying a pregnancy of 3 and more months. Even as the aspirants were yet to come to the terms of this decision, the government had slapped another condition that the teachers shall be appointed on contract basis and their services shall be regularized after 5 years.

This clearly shows the rule of babudom in Haryana. The chief minister is just acting on an advice by the officers which is resulting into resentment among teaching faculty. Infact, the government's stand is changing more faster then the curriculam of government schools,'' Anil Vijh, the Ambala cantt MLA and leader of BJP legislative party in Haryana Vidhan Sabha said.

Though, the politicians categorically blamed Hooda and his team for lack of foresight in making announcement. They, however, kept mum when asked about their stand on the 17,000 guest teachers who are apparently protected by government after the Punjab and Haryana High Court had asked Haryana to relieve them.
