Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is an entrance examination for people who wish to apply of the post of a teacher.  The exam is mandatory for teachers from Class 1 to Class 8, Paper 1 is meant for teachers opting for Class 1 to Class 5 and Paper 2 for Class 6 to Class 8.

The exam is conducted by both central government and state governments in India in order to fulfill and achieve Right to Education goals.

The exam is based on National Curriculum Framework and the candidate had to secure at least 60 per cent marks to clear the eligibility test. Any one, who has graduated in B.A, B.Sc, B.Com etc, is eligible to sit for the exam. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) maintains the database of applicants who have cleared the exam

Assam TET 2014 was conducted for candidates seeking to apply for Primary and Graduate Level Teacher positions in the state.
With an intention to achieve right to education goals, TET was conducted across the country on 1st February 2014. To qualify TET, candidates have to score minimum 60 %.

Teacher Eligibility Test known as the TET is an entrance examination for teacher posts which is conducted by both Central government and State governments across the country to improve standards in teaching. All graduates and B. Ed. graduates need to pass this exam to work as a teacher.
It is a mandatory test for aspiring candidates who apply for Paper I and Paper II. While Paper I is conducted for candidates applying for   teacher positions from Class 1 to Class 5,  Paper II is conducted  for candidates applying for Class  6 to Class 8.   Candidates applying for Class 1 to 8 have to appear for both Papers I and II.
